Good luck to those students preparing for the National FFA Convention in October

State FFA Convention Courtesy Corps

This will help to explain the duties and responsibilities of the State Convention Courtesy Corps.

 

The objectives of the Corps are:

 

1.     To encourage attendance at all sessions of the convention.

 

2.     To have all FFA members conduct themselves in such a manner that they uphold the high ideals of the organization.

 

3.     To provide guidance and direction to FFA members and guests.

 

4.     To foster and promote a desirable image of agricultural education and the FFA.

 

5.     To assist in making the convention an educational experience for all in attendance by helping conduct convention activities.

 

 

 

FFA members may be assigned to the following convention operation areas:

 

General Ushers–responsible for greeting guests, maintaining proper conduct, handing out programs, etc.

 

Service Staff–responsible for office assistance, help with news media, information table, general convention operations.

 

Contest Assistant–responsibilities may include serving as emcee, time keeper, door guard, contestant runner, etc.

 

Please indicate your availability to serve with the Courtesy Corps on the application.  Keep in mind your other convention commitments such as career development events, FFA leadership events, serving as an official delegate, State FFA Honor Choir, State Officer applicant, etc.

 

Please remove this cover letter before submitting application to State Office.

 

Priority will be given to older students who apply for the Corps.  Younger members may be used to assist with the Leadership Skills Events.
